Deal values Cosmix at ₹375 crore as Marico bets big on plant-based nutrition.
Fast-moving consumer goods major Marico has announced plans to acquire a 60% majority stake in plant-based protein supplements startup Cosmix, valuing the company at ₹375 crore, according to regulatory filings.
Founded in 2019, Cosmix is a leading brand in the fast-growing wellness and plant-based nutrition market. Projection shows it is to achieve ₹100 crore in revenue by FY26, a near double figure from FY25 levels. As part of the deal, Marico will have the option to acquire the remaining 40% stake by FY29, subject to agreed milestones.
Cosmix, co-founded by Vibha Harish and Saurav Jagdish, has been bootstrapped so far and is EBITDA-positive. The founders stated that the decision to bring in a strategic partner instead of a financial investor was driven by Marico’s strong capabilities in R&D, manufacturing, and consumer brand scaling.
Marico’s Managing Director and CEO Saugata Gupta said the acquisition aligns with the company’s focus on digital-first, differentiated wellness brands. Cosmix will continue to operate independently while remaining focused on its digital-led growth strategy, with no immediate plans to expand aggressively into offline retail.
